looks like for sure rain in california finally. first time since like december. and it looks like it will be more of a wednesday and thursday event. over the weekend, we were still warm but not as hot. temperatures in the 60s. we didn't set as many record highs. two weeks straight now with record high each and every day out there. and as far as like the temperatures, we talked about how bitterly cold it is, especially in areas like the northern plains and stuff, all of this cold air will stay to the east. the best chance of rain appears to be as we go through wednesday and thursday, northern california, especially, and that will move further to the south. not a soaking rain, not a end of the drought buster but it is a change in the weather pattern, which is what we have been so needing. it is just -- the pictures are just incredible and we need to start filling up the reservoirs before the dry season begins. >> people will be confused. what is this? >> it will be pretty crazy. that's a look at the >>> so, again, looks like half inch to inch of rain headed to cali

but all of california just sitting there, warm and dry. this is what we call a huge ridge over the west. and unfortunately this weather pattern predominantly for the last year, year and a half. you get breaks every now and then. whenever you have the huge ridge, just the weather goes up and over and down and just misses you. and it stays warm too. yesterday was 71 in l.a., 60 in san francisco. even pretty mild up in the northwest. that looks like a map i would show you in march. that's the harshest part of winter. month to date rainfall, we never had since records have been kept in san francisco less than a quarter inch of rain in january. right now, we have got one little drip in the bucket. that's it. and, of course, with windy conditions expected the next two days, we have red flag warnings, high fire danger from santa barbara to los angeles, down to san diego. can you believe that? red flag warnings. >> in january. >> the middle of january, the rainy it is hard to keep the beat in the drum and say the same things over and over again. b
